Construction Details The luminaire consists of a spigot base, top casting, glare shield, lamp compartment with integral control gear and diffuser that is held in position by three extruded aluminium tie bars. It is designed to operate 80/125W mercury vapour or 70/100W high-pressure sodium/metal halide lamps.
SABS Marks The luminaire bears the SANS 475 mark and the SANS 60598-2-3 safety mark. Luminaire spigot entries comply with SANS 1088 - Table 1 for Type 2: ø76mm x 75mm
Ingress Protection The luminaire has a degree of protection that complies with SANS 60598-2-3. Lamp compartment: IP 65. The IP rating is certified by an SABS test report.
Top Cover / Glare Shield Both the top cover and 650mm diameter glare shield are robustly constructed, weatherproof, hailproof, corrosion proof and vandal resistant. They are manufactured from high-pressure die-cast aluminium (EN 1706 AC-44300), powder coated for added protection in the colour specified, with the underside of the glare shield being white for added reflectivity.
Spigot Base The spigot base is manufactured from high-pressure die-cast aluminium (EN 1706 AC-44300), powder coated for added protection in the colour specified. The luminaire is secured to the pole by three M8 stainless steel grub screws.
Diffuser The diffuser is manufactured from non-discolouring clear high-impact acrylic. It is seamless and smooth on both the inside and outside.
Optics - BEKASHINE The optical system used in conjunction with the clear diffuser version consists of a bead blasted aluminium louvre system, providing quality low level lighting and glare control.
Electrical Components The control gear is incorporated inside the luminaire and is mounted on a removable gear tray. It is suitable for operation with the specified rating of the lamp on a 230V +3%/-10% 50Hz single phase system. All screws, bolts and metal parts are stainless steel or anti-corrosion treated material. Mains connections are by means of a suitable screw terminal block with a wire clamping contact. Ignitors, where applicable, are of the superimposed pulse type. The luminaire is power factor corrected to a minimum of 0,9.
