CONSTRUCTION DETAILS The luminaire consists of a high-pressure die-cast
aluminium body with non-discolouring prismatic high-
impact acrylic diffuser and is designed to operate LEDs
of 42W,80/125W mercury vapour and 70/100/150W high-
pressure sodium/metal halide lamps.
SABS MARKS The luminaire bears the SANS 60598-2-1 safety mark.
INGRESS PROTECTION The luminaire has a degree of protection that complies
with SANS 60598-2-1:
Lamp compartment: IP 66
The IP rating is certified by an SABS test report.
BODY The body is manufactured from high-pressure die-cast
It is supplied with three mounting holes, but can also
be supplied with no holes in the body, using mounting
lugs instead, on request.
Electrical cable entry is via a compression type gland at
the rear of the luminaire, but other entries can be
provided on request.
A high-pressure die-cast aluminium decorative skirt
assembly is available for architectural applications.
The body can be semi-recessed or surface mounted.
DIFFUSER The diffuser is manufactured from non-discolouring
injection moulded high-impact acrylic.
The prisms are restricted to the inside of the diffuser
and are carefully formed to work in conjunction with
the reflector to provide a spacing to mounting height
ratio of up to 8:1, whilst controlling excessive glare.
The frame assembly is held to the body by four
stainless steel M6 Allen head captive screws located
outside the sealed lamp compartment.
REFLECTOR SYSTEM A high-purity, single-piece, die-formed aluminium
reflector is mounted on the reflector back plate.
An internal eyelid is available as an option when the
luminaire is mounted in a vertical position against
buildings, providing effective perimeter lighting.
